Sea|mester was an experience unlike any other I have ever had. I had the opportunity to participate in activities that I would never have been able to otherwise while living on a boat that I got to help sail between different countries. The staff was incredible, extremely knowledgeable but also very personable. I got to meet fellow shipmates from all over North America and through all the adventures and challenges we grew to become great friends. Three months I will never forget!

Sea|Mester is the best way to see whats out there. The different cultures of the islands is always eye opening. You get to meet the MOST interesting island characters; all of which are able to sum up the life of a Caribbean native. I think that this program offers the BEST possible environment to learn in. You become friends with all of your professors, and you are learning about the fish and processes of the ocean that surrounds you every day. You delve into sailing and life aboard a ship becomes very natural. The sailing is very intuitive no matter your skill level. Not having your phone or internet to distract you lets you look up, and see whats out there: and boy is it beautiful. It must be impossible to be sad on this trip, every sunset seems to be more perfect than the last, and every island has its own character. I suggest this trip to everyone that I see and to all of you who read this review. Sea|Mester has changed my life indefinitely, and I could not be happier with the lessons I learned aboard Ocean Star.

I went on Seamester when I was a junior in college at the University of Virginia. This is a great program for those who want a more "out of the ordinary" study abroad experience. This program is run on board S/Y Argo, a 113 ft sailing schooner that the company owns. The staff on board are so inspirational and helpful with anything! They live on board with you and travel around with you, so they become very good mentors. We traveled to very remote islands along the coast of Thailand and Malaysia and we got a good feel of what it is actually like to live and work aboard sailing yachts. We had our marine biology classes on deck and after class, we could strap on our scuba gear and go research what we had just learned. What a great way to learn! I would recommend this program to anyone that wants an adventure while having your classroom be the ocean.
