This program has taught me so much! I have been on two trips with GLA and they have had such a huge impact on me and my veiw of the world. It is such a transformative experience and it is so much fun!! I cannot think of a better way to spend my summer than with fellow teenagers having an adventure in a new country and volunteering. Thank you so much for the great times GLA!

My daughter went to Tanzania this past summer. In preparation for the trip, I was impressed with the organization; nothing was overlooked! The trip was well run and left her with a feeling of accomplishment and a desire for helping more. I highly recommend this trip for any teenager since it will increased their awareness of the world while this organization keeps them safe in their pursuit.

This past summer my daughter Ava traveled to Belize for two weeks with Global Leadership Adventures. At first I was a bit hesitant to let her go on the trip, but I had never seen her so impassioned by a cause. Also, after extensive research on several websites, I found out GLA has few to no bad reviews and about a million amazing ones. The assurance from other parents about the trip’s safety and impact on their child’s life are what finally convinced me to let her go. And it was so worth it!! Ava had THE time of her life and found a new sense of purpose as well as many new friends. The in-country staff was always there if I ever needed to place a call in case of emergency but if I had questions I’d just email GLA and they got back to me quickly. My personal favorite part of this organization are the blogs that the students post online every few days. They gave me a great idea of what Ava was doing each day and I loved the pictures attached! Couldn’t recommend this organization more!!

My daughter had the best trip of her life with Global Leadership Adventures. The impact that they have had on her life has been tremendous and I am grateful to them. Though she was already a kind person, she came back with more gratitude than I believed possible in a teenager. She valued everything that she had and gained a lot more patience in her everyday life. Global Leadership Adventures exposed her to a new culture and took her out of her comfort zone. My daughter is shy and tends to avoid public speaking, but GLA made her work at this weakness and she came back more confident than ever. They inspired so much change in her in such a short time. My favorite part of GLA was the safety that they offered the kids. My daughter never once felt uncomfortable and she came to love the people who watched out for her and I know that she is still in contact with some of them. She had to go to the doctor in Tanzania and her mentor was fantastic with her. My daughter was very nervous and she told me that her mentor reassured her and helped her every step of the way. GLA is the most reliable organization and provides the most for the kids. They take safety as a first priority. I recommend GLA to any family who has a child with the same interests as mine.

This summer, I went on the 21 day flagship program to Thailand with Global Leadership Adventures, and it was the best experience of my life. I grew so much as a person from group discussions and seeing all different walks of life in another culture. I never once felt unsafe, which was very nice. It was definitely clear that safety was the number one priority. The support we received from our mentors was amazing; they were always there for us to talk about missing family, to being scared of an activity, to personal struggles affecting you on the trip. The mentors really help to make you feel welcomed. We got to see every aspect of Thailand, from the nightlife of the markets to the daily lives of rice paddy farmers. The activities were all so much fun and had something to learn from them. The mentors are always making sure we're aware of what's going on. My favorite part about the trip, besides teaching Thai children, would be the last night of the program when we all laid out on the floor to write our bag notes and stayed up late to finish them after our final dinner. We had all grown so close throughout our 21 days and we just talked about our favorite parts of the trip and it felt like everything came full circle.
